Dr. Lorraine Cheng
Dr. Lorraine Cheng graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology and then received her Doctorate of Optometry from UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 2020. After graduation, Dr. Cheng completed a primary care and ocular disease residency program at the West Los Angeles Veterans' Affairs Medical Center. She served veterans and managed various eye conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. She then worked at UCLA's Stein Eye Institute specializing in cataract and refractive surgery and did co-management for LASIK, PRK, and SMILE. There, she lectured to UCLA ophthalmology residents to improve their refractive skills. After her time at UCLA, because she strived to provide the best quality patient care, she learned from residency-trained contact lens specialists how to fit specialty contact lenses, such as scleral lenses for conditions like keratoconus, dry eyes, and post-LASIK ectasia, as well as orthokeratology lenses for myopia management. Her extensive training in multiple areas of eye care has given Dr. Cheng the knowledge to provide the most comprehensive exams possible.
Dr. Cheng is an ocular disease residency-trained optometrist, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), and is certified in the use of therapeutic pharmaceutical agents & glaucoma (TPG). She has gone through rigorous training in order to provide the best quality eye care to all patients. Dr. Cheng treats all her patients the way she would treat her family and takes the time to educate patients on their eye health.
